Dowel Cradle assemblies. The use of Dowel Cradles is becoming
popular for use with saw cut joints on large industrial projects.
Dowel Cradles, sometimes called dowel baskets, ensure that
accurate horizontal and vertical alignment of dowels is maintained
during concrete placement. Maintaining correct alignment of
dowels across the joint is recognised as being the most important
aspect of forming a doweled joint.
Connolly dowel cradles are produced with either round, square
or plate dowels in most popular lengths and slab depths or
they can be made to your specific individual slab requirements.
Where square or plate dowels are specified, Connolly dowel
sleeves are used as part of the cradle system to allow lateral
movement of the dowels along the joint line.
Made from 6mm wire, the cradles form a rigid assembly capable
of withstanding the harsh treatment they frequently encounter
during construction activities. Made in standard 3.0m lengths
they are easy to transport, handle and install, saving both
time and money for the contractor.
